Multimodal Transport Modes

ROAD & BARGE SPECIAL EQUIPMENT CHARTER VESSELS AIR FREIGHT

The selection of the most suitable transportmodes plays a major role in the logistics process.

At Hudig & Veder we have the know-how and in-house experience to ship your cargo the most cost efficient and secure way.

The route from the warehouse or production location can be covered by truck, lowbed or transported over the inland waterways by barge.

Whether by special container equipment on a liner service, loaded as break-bulk on a chartered vessel or by plane - we provide the best customised transport combinations available.

Road & Barge

The precarriage to the loading port and oncarriage from the discharge port to the final delivery site need to be well coordinated. We arrange road transportation by truck-trailer combinations or special lowbed trailers in case of abnormal cargo height in view of raod restrictions. Or a barge is chartered to ship cargo over water to avoid certain obstacles and high costs.

Sea Transport

The way the port-to-port transport is be organised depends on the cargo characteristics and total volume. Special equipment such as flat rack and open top containers are good tools for oversized and out-of -gauge cargoes. If cargo volume justifies we (part) charter break-bulk vessels or load a break-bulk on a liner service for the most economical transport option.

Air Freight

As an intercontinental forwarder we are able to transport both large and small volumes of freight by air. We are not bound by schedule limitations and can deliver to and from any destination in the world. We provide suitable (re)packing for IMO classified goods in accordance with IATA regulations for airfreight via our IATA appointed packer.
