Optimizing bulktransport: our latest ARAG region project
In the ARAG region (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp-Ghent), we are currently working on an innovative bulk handling project, ensuring the efficient transshipment and transportation of dry bulk goods across various modalities. By combining inland shipping, storage, and container transport, we create a seamless and cost-effective supply chain.
For this project, we unload dry bulk goods from different transport modalities, such as inland vessels and coasters. The products are temporarily stored - both indoor sand outdoors - before being shipped in 20ft standard containers equipped with liner bags. This approach provides maximum flexibility and allows us to quickly adapt to our customers' transport needs.
One of the key innovations in this project is the use of an extendable conveyor belt for container loading. This technology allows us to fully utilize container capacity, resulting in a higher loading grade. The direct benefit? A more favorable transport price per metric ton, bringing significant cost savings for our customers.
In addition to unloading and loading bulk products, we take care of the full logistics process:
- Internal transport between our depot and the terminal
- Customs clearance and freight documentation
- Coordination of transport and shipping
With this approach, we ensure that goods reach their destination under optimal conditions.With this project, we take a significant step forward in optimizing bulk transport within the ARAG region.
